I currently hold the Lasker Data Science Fellowship at the Space Telescope Science Institute, through which I conduct independent research at the intersection of astrophysics, software development, and data science with the support of the STScI science and data science mission offices. In the 2021-2022 round, I was awarded one of the European Union's prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Widening Fellowships to study the relationship between models of stellar interior mixing processes and age determinations with host Konkoly Observatory in Budapest, Hungary.
In August of 2019, I joined the MESA developers .
I am a frequent collaborator with researchers at Konkoly Observatory of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the University of Sydney's asteroseismology group, Monash University's stellar astrophysics and nucleosynthesis group, and the network of stellar astrophysicists connected by the MESA (Modules for Experiments in Stellar Astrophysics) software suite. In 2018, I completed my Ph.D. in computational stellar structure and evolution under the advising of Professor Brian Chaboyer at Dartmouth College. The last two years of my Ph.D. were spent jointly at the South African Astronomical Observatory (SAAO) in Cape Town, South Africa.
My area of expertise is theoretical stellar evolution and precision stellar modeling. My research interests are broad and touch upon many subfields: stellar structure and evolution, precision stellar modeling across the mass spectrum, asteroseismology, stellar interiors, convection and mixing, numerical methods, astronomy software development, variable, oscillating, and pulsating stars, low-metallicity stars, globular clusters, evolved stars, young stars and planet hosts.
When I'm not building stars or breaking computers, I dance, hike, play the piano badly, and advocate for the inclusion and support of women and other historically excluded groups in physics and software development.
The record shows I can model just about anything. Contact me for custom stellar tracks, isochrones, or asteroseismic fitting.
I would love to provide a quote, give a remote colloquium at your institute, or present at your outreach event! Please contact me via email.
